Health & Insurance----As ever written before, that Siti Arrahma, babies with heart abnormalities have been getting treatment at the Harapan Kita Hospital, Jakarta.

The series of operations to cure Siti Arrahma, the baby of the couple Khairuddin and Diana, who came from Riau with heart outside body has started. The chances are not too large, because not easy to re-enter this poor baby's heart into the chest cavity.

Chairman of the doctors who handle the baby Siti, Dr. Rudy Firmansyah, SpA estimates one difficulty is that limited the capacity of the chest cavity. Normally there are three compartments or rooms for two lungs and a heart, but at heart too old Siti compartment emptied.

"If left blank, then her lungs would expand and occupy the heart cavity. If it is so, it is difficult to enter her heart," said Dr. Rudy RSAB after a news conference at the Harapan Kita Jakarta, Wednesday (21/09/2011).

Stage to re-enter the heart Siti into the chest cavity is still far away. Because the first thing to do is improve the team doctor had cardiac abnormalities on Siti. Besides the location outside the body, the heart of this poor baby has other problems too complex.

The first thing to do is close the heart of the team of doctors that are outside the baby's body Siti Arrahma by installing artificial heart membrane or skin tissue from cows. Heart in the skin of the baby's chest should be covered to avoid infection and that are not easily moved. If the heart is touched then the rate will be disturbed.

Siti Arrahma heart, have congenital abnormalities of ventricular septal defect or hole in the septum of her heart. Not only that, baby Siti also still have other heart problems such as tetralogy of Fallot, even including the complications in the lungs.

Although hopes are relatively small, the combined team of doctors from RSAB and Rumah Sakit Jantung Harapan Kita will seek the best. Evidenced by the many experts who are involved include neonatology specialists, cardiologists, pediatric heart specialists, anesthesiologists, plastic surgeons and nurses involved.

Hopefully Siti Arrahma be saved!
