Patients with Severe Lung Disease Gives Twins 3

Health & Insurance----Cystic fibrosis is a disease in the lung that are categorized as severe. The production is thick and sticky mucus in the pancreas and the lungs makes breathing difficult sufferers. But a mother with cystic fibrosis remains determined to give birth three babies despite the risk of his life in danger. 

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disorder that trigger lung damage and nutritional deficiencies. Symptoms generally appear are persistent cough, shortness of breath, lung infections are recurrent, recurrent sinus infections and weight loss and low body growth.

Cystic fibrosis sufferer usually only have a short life expectancy and every pregnancy that occurs can be dangerous because it puts excess pressure on his lungs.

Kandace Smith (20 years) from South Louisiana, the United States have cystic fibrosis since birth and he had to do physiotherapy every day to help clear his lungs of mucus thick.

Upon learning she was pregnant, doctors are very worried and asked him to terminate the pregnancy. But Smith rejected that recommendation and continue the pregnancy at all costs to be risking his own life.

Actually that makes doctors more concerned over his safety is due to Smith containing 3 twins, but to breathe just sometimes it is very difficult.

"I know this will be a difficult and risky for me, but I'll take that risk because I never thought I could become a mother, so I will not miss this opportunity," said Smith, as quoted from Dailymail, Friday (23 / 9 / 2011).

"I do not believe that I am actually pregnant, when the scan showed no heartbeat 3 then I nearly fainted because it did not believe there can be 3 babies in my womb," he continued.

Because of the risks it faces a very large, physicians should give extra attention to Smith triplet pregnancy. During pregnancy, Smith watched closely and given drugs to help him survive. He was also given drugs to prevent births that are too fast.

"We are very concerned about the function of the lungs are not able to tolerate these three twin pregnancies," said obstetrician Gabriella Pridjian from Tulane-Lakeside Hospital.

Estimated doctors proved, the longer breathing Smith is slowly deteriorating. Until finally Smith's lung function begins to experience failure at the age of 28 weeks gestation. The doctor was immediately perform an emergency cesarean section to preserve Smith's life.

Finally, twins were also born with three each weigh 900 grams, a girl and named Brooklyn, Savannah and Dakota. After 3 months in the hospital, Smith was eventually allowed to return home.

All of these infants also have done initial tests and was declared healthy, and also tested for cystic fibrosis and found none of the babies who have this disease.

"This is the most difficult struggles in my life, but this struggle is very valuable in every second," said Smith.

This condition is the first known case in the world for a woman with cystic fibrosis could produce triplets. Pregnancy with twins Smith and all three have been reported in scientific journals and a critical analysis of the medical world to the next.
