This can affect the lungs. There is an increased risk of bacterial infection is present in the pancreas with acute pancreatitis.

Acute pancreatitis can also lead to an accumulation of fluid and waste in the pancreas, causing the formation of large pseudokista. If they break pseudokista, can lead to infection and internal bleeding.

Chronic pancreatitis can cause damage to cells that produce insulin in the pancreas islets. This can cause blood sugar levels increase in the blood, causing diabetes. Chronic pancreatitis as a risk factor for pancreatic cancer. Both acute and chronic pancreatitis can lead to malnutrition and weight loss due to poor digestion and malabsorption of nutrients.

The diagnosis of pancreatitis
Pancreatitis was based on the physical examination of the images and lab tests, like blood and feces diagnosed. There are different criteria for the diagnosis of acute and chronic pancreatitis.

Acute pancreatitis: On physical examination, the doctor checked fever, low blood pressure, breathing rate and rapid tachycardia. certain blood tests are performed to levels of amylase and lipase and amylase urine.

Amylase and lipase are digestive enzymes produced by the pancreas. Amylase and lipase are elevated in acute pancreatitis. Several other blood tests such as blood count, determination of blood sugar and serum calcium levels were also performed. Photos tests such as abdominal CT, MRI and ultrasound to detect gallstones and pancreatic cell damage.

Chronic pancreatitis: diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis with certain tests such as fecal fat and blood tests such as the determination of serum lipase, amylase and trypsinogen. Photos tests like a CT scan of the abdomen and ERCP ultarsound (ERCP) was performed to detect calcium deposits and inflammation of the pancreas. Exploratory laparotomy may be performed for confirmation of pancreatitis.

The treatment of pancreatitis
Because pancreatitis can lead to fatal complications are usually immediate medical attention and hospitalization. The treatment of pancreatitis is to relieve pain, reduce stimulation of the pancreas, preventing digestive disorders and to replace fluids by intravenous infusion. After inflammation of the pancreas is controlled and the patient's condition is stable, then the treatment is given to treat the cause of pancreatitis.

If the diagnosis of pancreatitis is confirmed, immediately recommended hospitalization. Initial treatment to control inflammation. Patients were asked to stop eating for several days. Analgesics are given to relieve abdominal pain. Because of dehydration, the patient may suffer from dehydration with intravenous fluids must be fought.

If pancreatitis caused by a narrowing or obstruction of the bile ducts, is the so-called Operation ERCP (ERCP) is done to expand or open the bile ducts. Pancreatic surgery is recommended to remove the affected tissue or pancreatic fluid leak from the pancreas. Since alcohol abuse and alcoholism is a major cause of pancreatitis, a treatment for the addition of alcohol is very important. If alcohol consumption continues, it can aggravate pancreatitis, leading to serious complications.

Further treatment is necessary for the treatment of chronic pancreatitis. This includes the treatment of pain with pain, pancreatic enzyme supplements to aid digestion and to specific changes in the diet, how to improve low-fat foods.
